Most steaks are just fine without anything but some salt and pepper. Still, there’s nothing wrong with mixing up the flavor once in a while! This creamy garlic sauce recipe will create a unique flavor for steaks that might need a little more juice and pizazz. In fact, skirt steak and flank steak are the perfect cuts to pair with this cilantro steak sauce that bursts with garlic flavor. • 4 cloves Minced garlic
  • 1 cup Fresh cilantro leaves chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup Chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup EVOO Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Instructions
  1. Mash minced garlic together with salt until it forms a paste. Place in a blender with the remaining liquid ingredients and spices.
  2. Blend until all spices and ingredients are incorporated and the sauce is smooth.
  3. Place a small amount of olive oil in a skillet and allow the pan to come to temperature over medium heat.
  4. Place skirt steak in the pan without overcrowding the slices. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side for very thin pieces, or about 4-5 minutes on each side for larger pieces.
  5. Allow the steak to rest for about 10 minutes after cooking.
  6. Serve with the garlic cilantro steak sauce drizzled over the steak.
  7. Alternatively, you can thread the skirt steak onto skewers, broil them for about 3 minutes on each side, and use the sauce as a dipping sauce!
