Steak University | The Rokerij

While its name is Dutch (meaning “Smokehouse”), The Rokerij’s menu is emphatically Southwestern. Run by Phoenix restaurateur Richardson Browne, owner of the popular Dick’s Hideaway, The Rokerij might be the only restaurant in America, never mind just Phoenix, where you can dig into carne adovada and chimayo chicken in a Netherlands-style setting. As for the steaks, the entrecôte – The Rokerij’s spin on the rib-eye – is a cut above. For less adventurous (but none-the-less excellent) fare, try the steak tartare or the roasted elephant garlic appetizer.
