Teriyaki Marinated Flank Steak

Ingredients
  

For the Steak:

  • 1.5 lbs flank steak
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

For the Marinade:

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated

Instructions
 

For the Steak:

  • Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat
  • Season both sides of the flank steak with salt and pepper
  • Grill or oven-bake the steak for 5-6 minutes per side or until desired doneness (medium rare preferred)
  • Rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain

For the Marinade:

  • Whisk the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger together
  • Place the steak in a resealable bag and pour the marinade
  • Massage the marinade into the steak inside the sealed bag
  • Put in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (up to 24 hours)
  • Remove steak from the marinade, discard excess marinade, and cook according to the instructions above
