Grilled Flank Steak With Red Wine Marinade

Course Main Course

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs flank steak
  • 1/4 cup your choice of dry red wine
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a wide shallow dish, combine your choice of dry red wine, olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well
  • Place the flank steak in the marinade and make sure that the pieces are evenly coated. Cover the dish and let the marinade do its magic in the refrigerator for anywhere from an hour to 24 hours
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat
  • Take out the steaks from the dish, remove the excess liquids, and start grilling
  • Grill until the desired doneness is reached. Medium rare is preferred, which you can achieve by grilling at 145°F for around 4 minutes on each side
  • Rest the cooked steaks for 5-10 minutes before serving

Notes

  • Always start with premium quality flank steaks, so you don’t end up with dry and tough steaks.
  • Do not overcrowd your grill because this could affect the heat on the grill and stop your steak from cooking evenly from all sides.
  • To ensure maximum absorption of flavor, use thin flank steak slices.
