Instant Pot Pork Steak

Ingredients
  

  • 4 pork steaks
  • your choice of seasonings or marinade
  • 1 cup chicken or beef broth
  • 1 tbsp oil (for searing)
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Season the pork steaks with your preferred seasoning, rub, or marinade. Let them absorb the flavors for at least 30 minutes or overnight for more flavor.
  • Turn on the Instant Pot and select the Sauté or equivalent function if you’re using a different model. Add oil to the pot.
  • Once the oil is hot, sear the pork steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side until they get that nice brown crust. Remove the steaks from the pot and set aside.
  • Deglaze the pot by adding the chicken or beef broth and scraping the bottom to release any flavorful bits.
  • Place a trivet at the bottom of the Instant Pot and place the seared pork steaks on top.
  • Close the Instant Pot lid and make sure the valve is sealed in position.
  • Choose the function for cooking and set the timer for 8-10 minutes. You may need to adjust the time depending on the thickness of the steaks.
  • Once the steaks are cooked, allow for a natural release of pressure for about 10 minutes then slowly release any remaining steam using the venting function.
  • Open the lid and transfer the pork steaks to a serving platter. Let them rest for a few minutes before serving with your favorite side dishes.
