Course Main Course

Ingredients

  • steak cubes (chosen cut of beef)
  • olive oil or a neutral cooking oil
  • salt and pepper (for seasoning)

Instructions

  • If not already cubed, cut your chosen beef into bite-sized, uniform cubes.
  • Place the steak cubes in a large bowl.
  • Season the steak cubes with salt and pepper. Be generous but not overly so; you can adjust the seasoning later if needed.
  • If desired, add herbs and spices to enhance the flavor. Some good choices include garlic powder, paprika, thyme, or rosemary. Mix everything together to ensure even seasoning.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the seasoned steak cubes. The oil helps the seasonings stick to the meat and promotes browning.
  • Gently toss the steak cubes in the bowl to ensure they are evenly coated with the seasonings and oil.

Notes

Optional Ingredients for Enhanced Flavor:
  • Marinade (e.g., soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, or your preferred flavorings)
  • Minced garlic or onion
  • Fresh herbs (e.g., parsley, cilantro, or chives)
  • Grated Parmesan or other hard cheeses
  • Sliced mushrooms, bell peppers, or onions (for a complete one-pan meal)
Tips for Marinating Steak Cubes (if applicable):
  1. If you prefer marinated steak cubes, place the cubed meat in a sealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  2. Pour your chosen marinade over the cubes and make sure they are well coated.
  3. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours) to allow the flavors to infuse.
  4. When ready to cook, remove the steak cubes from the marinade, allowing any excess liquid to drip off, and then follow the seasoning and baking steps mentioned above.
