Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork steaks
  • 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried tarragon
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Remove the pork steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature. Combine the spices and rub them all over the surface of the meat. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Heat a cast iron or frying pan on the stovetop. Add the 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sear each pork steak for 1 to 2 minutes per side or until lightly browned.
  • Place the pork steaks in a roasting pan or glass casserole dish. Pour the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and honey into the dish and mix well.
  • Cook for 35 to 45 minutes depending on the thickness of the pork steaks. Ensure an internal temperature of 145 degrees F or above.

Notes

You can thicken the sauce if you want to serve it over noodles or mashed potatoes. If you brine or marinate the meat, consider swapping the soy sauce for a liquid with less sodium like beef broth.
