Ingredients

  • 4 pork steaks
  • 1 cup of your chose BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp of your favorite dry rub
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F or 190°C.
  • While the oven is heating up, sprinkle your chosen dry rub, salt, and pepper all over the pork steaks. Press them in to better coat them in flavor.
  • Heat up a splash of olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over high heat. Sear both sides of your pork steaks for about 2 minutes until you achieve a nice brown crust.
  • Brush both sides of the steaks with a generous amount of BBQ sauce. Don’t be afraid to use a lot!
  • Carefully place the skillet into your preheated oven. Let the pork steaks bake for roughly 15-20 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) at the thickest part. Don't forget to brush more BBQ sauce halfway through the baking time.
  • Once the BBQ pork steaks are done, rest them for a few minutes before slicing and serving them.

Notes

  • As much as possible, cook steaks that are all around the same thickness. If this isn’t possible, just make sure you check the internal temperature of each piece and that everything is cooked before removing them from the oven.
  • For a charred exterior, pop the steaks under the broiler for a couple of minutes after baking.
