Cooking Instructions

How to Cook Your Steak Burgers - Quick Guide

From Frozen or Thawed
Our burgers can be cooked straight from frozen or thawed overnight under refrigeration

Season & Handle
Season just before cooking. Handle gently. Don't press down on the burger while cooking — this forces out juices

Resting
After cooking, let burgers rest for 2–3 minutes before serving

Burger Cooking Tips

1. Preheat well.
Grill or skillet should be medium-high to high. Cast iron should be hot but not smoking.
(Grill target: ~350–400°F)

2. Lightly oil the surface.
Oil grill grates or pan just before cooking to prevent sticking.

3. Cook undisturbed.
Place burgers on the hot surface and cook without moving for about 5–6 minutes. Flip once when juices begin to appear on top.

4. Flip & finish.
Cook the second side for 4–6 minutes, depending on thickness and desired doneness.

5. Check doneness (use a thermometer).

Medium Rare: 130°–135°F (warm red center)
Medium: 140°–145°F (warm pink center)
Medium Well: 150°–155°F (slight pink
Well Done: 160°F+ (no pink)

USDA recommends ground beef be cooked to 160°F

6. Rest & serve.

Rest 2–3 minutes for the juiciest burger.

All of our steaks are vacuum wrapped and flash frozen in their natural juices to lock in the flavor. The steaks are then wrapped in our attractive food grade paper, sealed with the Chicago Steak Company gold label, and placed in our gorgeous gift box. Those gift boxes are placed inside our reusable insulated cooler with enough dry ice to keep them cold until arrival. Probably NOT the review you want to get. Very disappointed. My order did not arrive as a gift yet, was due to arrive Dec 17, today is 20, has not arrived as promised. When I called on the 17th to ask about lack of delivery, I was told the order had not been processed for texting notification properly?!?!
