How to Cook Your Steak – Quick Guide

Thawing
If frozen, thaw your steak in a pan under refrigeration for about 24 hours to catch any natural drippings.

Season & Handle
Season just before cooking. Always use tongs when flipping—never a fork, which can puncture the steak and lose some of those flavorful juices.

Resting
After cooking, let your steak rest for at least 5 minutes so the juices redistribute evenly.

Steak Cooking Tips

Below are a few additional pointers to help you get the most out of your steak:

1. Know the cut.
Steaks are most tender and flavorful when cooked to the proper doneness- avoid overcooking.

2. Preheat well.
Your grill or broiler to hot. Charcoal should be ashen gray; cast iron should be hot but not smoking.

3. Season simply.
Salt and pepper are all you need- or elevate the flavor with Chicago Steak Company Seasoning.

4. Lightly oil the surface.
This helps prevent sticking and promotes a proper sear.

5. Sear the first side.
Cook until juices begin to bead on the surface, using the Steak Cooking Chart as a guide.

6. Flip & Finish.
The second side cooks faster, so keep a close eye on it.

7. Check Doneness.

Rare: 120°–125° F (very soft; cool red center)
Medium Rare: ~130-135°F (springy, warm red center)
Medium: 140°–145°F (slight resistance; warm pink center)
Well Done: ~160° (firm; little to no pink)

Make sure to measure temperatures at the thickest part of the steak and keep in mind steak temperature will rise 5–10°F during resting (carryover cooking).

8. Rest & serve.
Let the steak rest for at least 5 minutes before serving for a juicy, flavorful result.

First time trying Chicago Steak.

Not all product was frozen when received. Chicken was pretty good. Hamburg Patty's are thin as were the rib eyes. I may have ordered wrong by getting a sampler as it seemed more like Omaha Steaks (not a fan of) may have to go back to Chop Box.

The chicken is good but the steaks are chewy and dry. Before you send me cooking instructions know that I was a professional chef. I purchased a steak at Safeway the other day that was so much better.

Expected More

Ordered this for the new year and the chicken and burgers look good.

Unfortunately the majority of the streaks are really fatty and way thin (they do not look like the pictures here or the video).

I ordered this to try out your steak selection to see what I liked best,so I could order those at a later date,

Broken cooler cover

When it was delivered the cover of the cooler was broken and everything inside was defrosted. I am very disappointed, not sure what to do. Product felt cold so I just put it in the freezer hopefully it'll be ok, but for what I paid for the product I am very disappointed. Cooler was shrink wrapped close but still everything was defrosted.

I thought I was getting 2% steaks which I was mistaken what I got was same as I get at sams wholesale but it is ok

100% Quality

Can't say enough good things about Chicago Steak. Let's start with the most important thing, taste! Flavor, texture and quality are all there. We have tried the filet, ribeye and sirloin and would highly recommend them. We have some burgers to try but I'm going to guess we won't be disappointed. Ordering is easy with lots of choices available. Shipping was fast and packaging was perfect. Steaks arrived fully frozen in a nice cooler packed with dry ice.

If you want to send someone a very nice gift, this is the route to go. Your family and friends will be impressed.

The best they have had
