How to Cook Your Steak – Quick Guide

Thawing
If frozen, thaw your steak in a pan under refrigeration for about 24 hours to catch any natural drippings.

Season & Handle
Season just before cooking. Always use tongs when flipping—never a fork, which can puncture the steak and lose some of those flavorful juices.

Resting
After cooking, let your steak rest for at least 5 minutes so the juices redistribute evenly.

Steak Cooking Tips

Below are a few additional pointers to help you get the most out of your steak:

1. Know the cut.
Steaks are most tender and flavorful when cooked to the proper doneness- avoid overcooking.

2. Preheat well.
Your grill or broiler to hot. Charcoal should be ashen gray; cast iron should be hot but not smoking.

3. Season simply.
Salt and pepper are all you need- or elevate the flavor with Chicago Steak Company Seasoning.

4. Lightly oil the surface.
This helps prevent sticking and promotes a proper sear.

5. Sear the first side.
Cook until juices begin to bead on the surface, using the Steak Cooking Chart as a guide.

6. Flip & Finish.
The second side cooks faster, so keep a close eye on it.

7. Check Doneness.

Rare: 120°–125° F (very soft; cool red center)
Medium Rare: ~130-135°F (springy, warm red center)
Medium: 140°–145°F (slight resistance; warm pink center)
Well Done: ~160° (firm; little to no pink)

Make sure to measure temperatures at the thickest part of the steak and keep in mind steak temperature will rise 5–10°F during resting (carryover cooking).

8. Rest & serve.
Let the steak rest for at least 5 minutes before serving for a juicy, flavorful result.

Terrible customer service - gift certificate rip off

Worst experience ever. Received 2 gift certificates for holidays. Gift certificates didn't work properly for the correct amount. Called three times. No one could help. Each time I was told someone would call me back. Never happened. Filled out an online request for contact. Never received a call or email. Customer service sucks. If I didn't have $250 worth of free food, I would never order from your company. Had to end up paying just to finish the order. Maybe the steaks will be great, but if your customer service is this bad, I can't imagine I'd ever spend a dime with your company again. Bait and switch.

I bought these steaks thinking I was getting a Quality product and instead I get meat with a lot of fat. For $150 I could have gotten better and more at Walmart

Surf and turf experience

The steak tips were very good and deserve a 5 star rating on their own. We were happy to see that you sell meat and fish and we planned to pair the steak tips with the salmon that we also received for a surf and turf meal. That is where the disapointment was. We would not have ordered the Salmon if we knew that this was from China as was indicated on the box received and not from USA waters. We only purchase and consume USA , Norweigan, Canada salmon. We do not trust Salmon or any fish from China waters. I also doubt that this is wild caught salmon and instead a poor China farm version. We ended up giving the salmon away to someone who does not mind where it comes from. So our surf and turf plan never became a reality. We also learned not to purchase any item unless there is a full true description that meets our quality standard. In this case it could not be an ultimate steak experience because the salmon failed miserabily.
