Zesty Steak Lettuce Wraps

INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb premium angus flat iron steaks
- 4 romaine lettuce leaves
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 1/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Red wine Vinegar
- 1 tsp Minced garlic
- 1 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp corn starch
- 1/4 cup Carrots (peeled and thinly sliced)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper (to taste)
DIRECTIONS
For the Steak
In a small saucepan
Generously salt and pepper both sides of the steak and allow to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
Preheat a skillet over high heat with olive oil.
Sear the steak for about 4 minutes on each side. Turn the temperature to low
cover
and cook for another 2 minutes or until medium rare.
Allow steak to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Slice into thin strips.
For the Drizzle
In a small saucepan
bring soy sauce
brown sugar
red wine vinegar
ginger
and cayenne pepper to a rolling boil.
Whisk in corn starch
stirring continuously until dissolved.
Turn temperature to low and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
Add garlic
stir
and simmer for 3 more minutes until garlic is fragrant.
Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Drizzle should thicken as it sits.
