How to Cook Your Steak – Quick Guide

Thawing
If frozen, thaw your steak in a pan under refrigeration for about 24 hours to catch any natural drippings.

Season & Handle
Season just before cooking. Always use tongs when flipping—never a fork, which can puncture the steak and lose some of those flavorful juices.

Resting
After cooking, let your steak rest for at least 5 minutes so the juices redistribute evenly.

Steak Cooking Tips

Below are a few additional pointers to help you get the most out of your steak:

1. Know the cut.
Steaks are most tender and flavorful when cooked to the proper doneness- avoid overcooking.

2. Preheat well.
Your grill or broiler to hot. Charcoal should be ashen gray; cast iron should be hot but not smoking.

3. Season simply.
Salt and pepper are all you need- or elevate the flavor with Chicago Steak Company Seasoning.

4. Lightly oil the surface.
This helps prevent sticking and promotes a proper sear.

5. Sear the first side.
Cook until juices begin to bead on the surface, using the Steak Cooking Chart as a guide.

6. Flip & Finish.
The second side cooks faster, so keep a close eye on it.

7. Check Doneness.

Rare: 120°–125° F (very soft; cool red center)
Medium Rare: ~130-135°F (springy, warm red center)
Medium: 140°–145°F (slight resistance; warm pink center)
Well Done: ~160° (firm; little to no pink)

Make sure to measure temperatures at the thickest part of the steak and keep in mind steak temperature will rise 5–10°F during resting (carryover cooking).

8. Rest & serve.
Let the steak rest for at least 5 minutes before serving for a juicy, flavorful result.

Ribeye Wine Pairing

The Ribeye steak is known for its abundant marbling (good fat content within the steak) and fat content is an important aspect to consider when pairing a wine. With that in mind, a red wine is the perfect pairing for this steak. It's also safe to say that your chardonnay may not be the best choice for this steak.

Both Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel work perfectly with the Ribeye. Your choice will depend on how robust you like your wine flavors. Both score right in the middle of the wine sweetness scale, but the Zinfandel has some spiciness weaved into its fruity flavor

I wasn't planning to comment on this purchase, but since you asked......I realize these weren't A5 Wagyu steaks, but I've had better ribeyes from my local grocer. One admittedly was pretty good, not melt in your mouth tender, but decent. The second one though, was terrible! Almost no marbling, hence very tough. Guess I got a bad cow. So, I don't, won't recommend them. Sorry, but you asked.

Great Ribeyes!

A disappointment

Hi, I do not think the Wagyu Beef exceeds my expectations. I am disappointed. But, I also ordered the Australian Wagyu which is more expensive than the American Wagyu. Hopefully, that this Australian Wagyu does not disappoint me.

Not worth the money in my opinion but our guests liked them overall. Very easy to cook in a piping hot cast iron pan. Delivery was slow but shipped during holidays so understandable. Packaging was bomb proof. Overall a good transaction!

Not as pictured, just spend a little extra and buy the real thing. Not worth it.

These steaks are still great, but it is by no means "Wagyu". These five star reviews must have never seen or tasted an actual Wagyu steak. You can get the same quality of these steaks by spending $25-$30 per pound at a good butcher for a rib eye. Again, this isn't BAD steak but it is not as advertised. I wish I could add a picture to this review so everyone could see. This is priced at $113 per pound which is WAY overpriced for what you get. Just spend another $10-20 per pound and get an A5 Japanese Wagyu if you want a Wagyu. If you don't, you'll be just as disappointed as me when you open your box.

The best tasting steaks I've ever made for my family! The delivery was fast but I did pay 60 bucks for next day delivery but they where delivered from Chicago to Arizona in two days, which was vital because I wanted them for my birthday party.:+1::skin-tone-3:

Disappointing

I bought these for Father's Day and went by other 5 star reviews and decided to spend the extra money and try them out. I read up on how to cook the American wagyu so as not to ruin these pricey steaks. I even cooked them Med rare but not even that could save these steaks.
They were tougher than the choice steaks I buy at the local grocer and also very gristly
with no flavor.
I did contact customer service and after 3 emails and one chat I finally got a response.
They asked if I would give them a chance to make things right so they are sending me some prime ribeyes to try.
Once I get them I will do another review on those boneless wet aged prime ribeyes.
I would not purchase these again though.

Not a bad steak, but not worth the price.

I bought these for my dad as a Fathers Day gift. We shared one at a family barbecue. It wasn't bad and it was cooked right, but ultimately it was nothing special. The marbling was just okay. Dad said he wished they were thicker and I agree. Save your money.

A good upgrade steak

This was a birthday gift from my wife.

Pretty close to A5 wagyu in taste but not as tender.

After tasting this I don't feel like going to any steakhouse anymore l can cook great tasting very tender steak.

Wow! The Wagyu Ribeye steaks I ordered were nothing less than exceptional.
I have to say I was a bit hesitant, but decided to treat myself to a special Christmas gift, so I chose the 12 oz. Wagyu Ribeye.
I am considered a bit frugal by some so this was not an easy decision to purchase these steaks, but I decided in my old age, (Pushing on 60), I thought I should try something very special as a treat. When the steaks arrived I was surprised how thick they were, so I thought I would cut the first steak in half and hopefully enjoy it 2 days in a row.
I cooked the first steaks on the grill outside over charcoal and apple wood, both were accompanied by twice baked potato and fresh asparagus and a very nice Jonata cabernet. I can not say WOW! enough, but the story does not stop there.
With the second steaks I was forced to cook inside, due to high winds. I cooked the first steak in the broiler and finished it in the oven, absolutely no loss in flavor or tenderness, again exceptional.
The second half of the steak was even more surprising though. My oven and broiler quit and the wind persisted, so I had no choice but to cook the steak on the stove top in a well seasoned cast iron frying pan.
The steak was still absolutely exceptional, even in a frying pan, I can not say enough about how excellent these steaks were.
I will definitely purchase again, probably the filet, just to try a different steak.
I highly recommend this magnificent steak experience to all, do not talk your self out of this, everyone should try these steaks at least once in their life.
