For the Steak
  1. Generously salt and pepper both sides of the steak and allow to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a skillet over high heat with olive oil.
  3. Sear the steak for about 4 minutes on each side. Turn the temperature to low, cover, and cook for another 2 minutes or until medium rare.
  4. Allow steak to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  5. Slice into thin strips.
For the Drizzle
  1. In a small saucepan, bring soy sauce, brown sugar, red wine vinegar, ginger, and cayenne pepper to a rolling boil.
  2. Whisk in corn starch, stirring continuously until dissolved.
  3. Turn temperature to low and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add garlic, stir, and simmer for 3 more minutes until garlic is fragrant.
  5. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Drizzle should thicken as it sits.
Recipe Notes

To prepare a lettuce wrap, top a lettuce leaf with a few slices of steak and then carrots. Pour the drizzle generously over the carrots and steak. Enjoy!
