Steak Crostini with a Cranberry Onion Jam

Ingredients
  

For the Cranberry Onion Jam

  • 2 yellow onions
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

For the Horseradish Sauce

  • 2 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 tbsp horseradish
  • black pepper

For the Steak

  • USDA Prime Dry Aged NY Strip Steak
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • baguette
  • chives

Instructions
 

For the Cranberry Onion Jam

  • Dice yellow onions and sauté over medium heat with butter for 15 minutes, or until onion is translucent
  • Add cranberries, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar
  • Stir on medium low heat for 30 minutes until jam like consistency

For the Horseradish Sauce

  • While the jam is cooking, combine sour cream, horseradish, and black pepper to taste. Set aside

For the Steak

  • While the jam is cooking, season your steak with your favorite seasoning, and salt and pepper to taste
  • Grill NY Strip until they reached desired doneness
  • Slice baguette and slightly toast on the grill
  • To build your crostini: Baguette, cranberry jam, steak, horseradish sauce, chives
